Hannegan Peak

Post by Josh Lewis on Sat May 03, 2008 9:26 pm

Hannegan Peak is a hike well worth the trip. It is about 200 miles from Seattle and is about 10 miles round trip to the summit. The summit is about 6200ft. high and you start out at 2900ft. which makes your elevation gain about 3400 feet. The hike is moderate and is beautiful on a nice day, When I went there on a smoggy day the view was still very good. If you are out of shape and don't quite feel like going to the summit then you can go to the pass which is 3.5 miles one way. The view at the summit is well worth going the extra 1.5 miles one way from the pass. Climbers would junction right to climb Ruth mountain WHICH IS A CLIMB. From the Pass Hannegan is on your left and strait goes down the valley toward Canada. This photo was tooken near the parking lot of Hannegan Peak trailhead.

In the future I plan on adding more! But am currently busy, and is just an overview for now.
